Folks have asked if there's a way to give online…
There are a lot of bills from medicines, Natural Clinic treatments, ER visits, and 30+ days in hospital and of course funeral expenses. :(
Thank you Dear Friends so much for standing with us on this long journey!

My Beautiful Bride the day she said "Yes" to the rest of our lives together.
Didn't think it would be so short….  :(

Bittersweet

Bittersweet news this morning my friends.
My beautiful bride went home to be with Jesus last night at 11 PM (Monday Night) Nov. 23
She slipped peacefully away not aware of what was going on and when she opened her eyes she looked into the eyes of Jesus.
Completely healed and restored and ready for the work ahead in the coming ages.
Please make sure that when you leave this life you know where you are going and make sure it is to an eternal place in heaven with Jesus.
These lives we live are but a vapor.

I will miss you for the rest of my life. BUT I WILL see you again, and very soon!

Update on Christine Monday 6:30 PM

Had a conversation with the palliative care doctor this evening. They want to move her to hospice care and they are saying she has hours to days left.

We're not going to go there because we believe that she is going to be healed.

We are asking that she be brought home for in-home hospice care where we can also get some good stuff into her :-)

So far her bowel obstruction has not cleared up so that is a bit of a concern.

Please pray that her bowels will open and the swollen abdomen will clear and that will give her a huge relief and energize her.

We are excited to get her home or we can get some good stuff into her and move forward.

But we would also welcome that healing but all in the Lords timing.

Thank you again dear friends for standing with us do not give up we are not and Christine has not!!!

Update on Christine 9:45am, Monday 11-23

Update on Christine  9:45am, Monday 11-23

Overnight her belly began to swell, very much.  They took her for an x-ray and it shows a bowel obstruction.  I'm waiting on the general surgeon to visit to offer his input.

She did have a small movement last night, but not enough to get relief.

Her liver doesn't seem to be working very well either, although her color is better.

Please Pray that we can get past this latest challenge, get her more comfortable, and start to improve.

AND pray for that healing to be received!

Thank you friends!

Time to pray hard.

OK prayer warriors,

Looks like we're getting down to the wire here, medically speaking of course.

We met with the palliative care doctor last week and he said that she has fractures on her vertebrae causing a lot more pain and her liver function is very low.

They upped her morphine to every two hours and increase the dosage although they will hold off as much as they can so she's not knocked out all the time.

They also increased her pain patch from a 50 to 75.

And they also added a anti-anxiety drug which is helping her with a bit more sleeping as she did not have a good Friday night.  Neither one of us slept much.  So now she seems to be sleeping most of the time as far as we can tell. The nurse said it will be either sleeping or awake and in pain. :(

Finally they added a catheter now so she can pee whenever she needs to.

Thursday she was quite lucid and able to communicate fairly well. Friday morning she was a bit more tired and not able to speak well but she did share with me that someone prayed with her and told her it was OK to go to Jesus.

She was quite upset that somebody had given up on her and told her that. She said if anyone wants to come pray with her they need to be positive and pray for her healing. She said and I quote "it is not my time!!!"

Now if she can be positive and faithful in the midst of her battle that just continues to get worse, why can't we?

Again what's the point of having faith if we can't remain faithful in times like this?

Why do we pray "if it be your will Lord" when we pray for someone with sickness like this, but we don't pray that when we're sharing salvation.

Doesn't his word promise that "by his stripes we are healed"?

Isaiah 53:5New International Version (NIV)

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
When we went to Israel we stood on the very stones where he earned those stripes, we know that it's real.

Mark 15:15  Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

The carving on the stone, where the soldiers played games to gamble for his garments.

"That he heals all our diseases and redeems our life from the pit"

Psalm 103:2-4

“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
James 1:6-8 NIV

The Road Ahead - Dr.s not hopeful. But HE is strong when we are weak!

Good Morning Dear Friends,

Thank you again for standing with us in prayer and support, and walking this road with us.  I know some folks may drop off, get busy with life, etc…  I know, life is busy, and one doesn't really appreciate walking this road unless you've done it.

I want you all to know how much your prayers and your comments lift us all up!  I really get a charge out of you guys and your words, thoughts, and prayers!!!  I'm so touched by all of you I've crossed paths with in this life, who are now surrounding us with love and care!  Thank You!

Grandma & I had a meeting with the Palliative Care Dr. to discuss going forward.  Several times I heard "prognosis is not good" "all the Dr's are saying this,"  etc..  She now has fractures in the vertebrae, which would account for the "I hurt everywhere" comments..

So this has never been a good diagnosis from the Drs and it keeps getting worse.  They are not hopeful, but we are!

She is extremely weak now and bedridden.  Has a difficult time even lifting her arms, and tries to stretch her back by putting her head up.  I can't imagine how frustrating it is…  Not able to get out of bed for the bathroom…

Calcium down in the 12.5 range (8-10.5 normal) this morning, so heading in the right direction. Hemoglobin up from 7 to 10 (10.8-15 normal), so we're heading in the right direction on that...

We got the TPN, Nutrition in and it's been going about 36 hours now.  She's becoming a bit more responsive.

Once we get her a bit more stabilized it looks like they'll be sending her to a skilled nursing facility so they can keep the fluids & liquid nutrition flowing.

Then we'd like to get back to the Clinic in Georgia for some mineral IV's and then a NC clinic to fight the cancer…

The Pulmonary Doctor was just in and shared that the liver is not doing well at all…  He said "if she goes into a nursing facility it's probable that she won't come out."

BUT, we're still praying for that Miracle healing and believing it will come.  We may have to go to the brink, but not all the way…
Psalm 103:4 "who redeems your life from the pit and crowns you with love and compassion"

Please pray specifically for;
- Freedom from pain
- Continued improvement of all vitals
- Liver function to return to full operation
- Cancer to GO in the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth
- Overall healing

Nutrition

Dear Friends,

So it's about 24 hours since my last note…

I spent the night with her last night in the hospital room as she was so weak, couldn't even pickup a water cup… and stayed till 1pm.  I was with her about 22 hours…

She was and is very weak, and difficult to hear her when she would talk.. not always making sense.  Probably from the high calcium & lack of hydration, etc…  Not about to get out of bed now for the first time since this all started.

Calcium was up to 15.5 when she arrived, Down to 15.1 by about 8am…

Pneumonia - they think in the lining of the lungs.  Antibiotics given overnight & today.

Lots of other stuff going in, Potassium, Diarrhetic, anti-anxiety, anti-seiure, but thankfully with all the IV's & liquid meds she's processing it, so that's very good!  Good flush.

Her "old" oncologist walked into her room this morning, I about fell over…  He's not optimistic, but never really has been, wants to do more anti-calcium drugs...

Best news is they put a Picc Line in which is a port that goes to her heart.  They will use it for NUTRITION!!!!!  Praise God!!!  She has been behind the nutrition curve for close to 2 months.  This is encouraging!!!!

Please pray for:
- building back up her strength from the nutrition
- cancer would go away…
- get off all the pharmaceuticals
- move on to more natural treatments

We're hoping to get her up to the clinic in Georgia for the mineral & supportive IV's, and then to a clinic in NC to fight the cancer and get rid of it..  So we need her strength up and for her to be able to eat and keep her strength up.

Of course if the Lord wanted to step in and wipe it all away, we'll go with that.

It's alway been about HIM healing her.  We're just praying for the direction…

Back again to the hospital.

Here we again.

The latest.

Please pray for these issues to go away for good.  For healing.
Calcium is up again.
Looks like Pneumonia.
Liver seems bloated.

She is resting in hospital.  Expect to see the doctor in the morning.  Just wanted to get this prayer request out fast.

Thanks again for standing with us in prayer.

Here's the update from earlier today to fill in the gaps.

Dear Friends

So after 3 days of struggling with care at home, and only 2 bags of IVs in 3 days we r back at the hospital.

We are currently trying to get blood from a very dehydrated lady so we can do labs, get more hydration and treatment.

More info as it comes in.

Please pray for easy blood draws, improvement in liver & kidney function, and of course overall healing.

Thanks Friends

Christine is back home… Waiting on IV's

                                                                   7pm Nov. 14

Dear Friends,

A quick update on Christine and specific prayer requests.

Thursday afternoon at the hospital she had slept a lot, partially due to the meds, especially the anti-nausea med.  She didn't' get a lot of food into her.  5 attempts to get a Mid Line (good for a month, rather than an IV thats good for 3-4 days) left her tired and sore.  She came home Thursday evening about 8pm.  The last IV came out around 6pm.

She was discharged into Home Health Care (rather than Hospice - only comfort) and we were expecting to go home to an IV…  Then Friday morning, but the order was never placed…

As I type, it's Saturday evening 7pm.  It's been over 48 hours that she's been without an IV, and with all the sleeping, she's getting rather dehydrated again…  They should be dropping off the IV's any minute, oh, and they're not covered by insurance…, but looking forward to getting her hydrated again.  Praying we haven't lost all the good of the 7 days in hospital.

UPDATE:  11PM
We are connected & dripping.  A whole chain of events not that interesting to describe, but enough to delay us all day…  2 bags, rather than 4… more to investigate tomorrow, showed up & the nurse a few minutes later…  Christine is connected and getting hydration Praise the Lord!  The bags should last about 20 hours, so looks like we'll have to try to get more tomorrow.  She has a doctors appt. Tuesday, and blood work Monday.

Please pray for a quick recovery from this latest speed bump, great blood work on Monday, and that NOW she keeps improving and we climb out of this latest valley and only go up from here…

Today our friends Ray & Cheri come with their home group and pulled weeds, mowed, and painted the guest bathroom.  Such a blessing.  They all prayed with us also.  A beautiful day!!!

You can see that even though she's very week, Christine got outside and saw Bambine's new Sandbox which he loves!!!!!

Calcium Normal!!!! But still very weak...

HELLO!!!!

Greetings Friends…

Here I sit in room 316.

Interesting number…  John 3:16  You've probably seen it at football games…

John 3:16New International Version (NIV)

16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

I told the Lord when we get Christine better, I'll make sure she shares her testimony where ever and when ever she can!!!
That's why we go through things like this right?
To help others!
To test our own faith and see if it's real.
To strengthen our faith.
To focus us on the Eternal rather than worldly wealth.
To reveal what we truly love.
To appreciate God's blessings, especially in times like this.
To build us up for greater usefulness in God's Kingdom.  In this case to share our testimony.

So Christine's calcium level has come down to the high end of normal…10.5  Other labs are looking better too!
They have her on some strong meds, one for nausea that has had her sleeping most of this afternoon and evening…  She needs rest as last night she was up every hour..  But she also needs to eat…
There's also talk of getting her home, which will be good in many ways, especially being able to tend to her all the time, rather than Grandma & me having to take shifts here at the hospital..  and insurance is great, but there's still a co-pay.
We're hoping to get Home Health Care to take over, so there would be physical & other therapies involved to strengthen her… and give her purpose to get out of bed.
She is very low… on energy, she's skin and bones, but her will is still strong.

Please pray that tomorrow, Tuesday, she will be ready to eat and start putting the weight back on, that she can come home, get stronger each day, and perhaps some trips to the clinic for treatment!
Thank you Dear friends…
Love,
P, C, E, & Grandma

Good news and Concerns

Dear friends,

A quick update on Christine.

Her calcium was 18 on Thursday (Dangerously high.). It's down to 13 as of Sunday evening.   8 to 10 is normal so this is looking better!

Still nausea and a lot of drugs to help control everything. We need to get her eating better!!!

Saturday night was rough for her, and fear is starting to creep in that she may not make it.  Her body is tired and weak, but her mind is so strong.  I asked her to keep fighting, which she will do and usually does.

Grandma went to visit this afternoon and Christine asked her to stay overnight. She didn't want to be alone.

The nurse today wasn't very attentive and I had to help a few times while waiting for the nurse to come help, so that's part of her concern.

I told her GOD CAN heal you like that. SNAP  She asked "why doesn't he?"  Hard to hear that….  We both know His timing is not ours.

His word proclaims we have already been healed, by His stripes.  We stood on the very stones in Jerusalem where he received those stripes.

Isaiah 53:5New King James Version (NKJV)

Christine at the Garden Tomb
But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

Touring Israel together!!!
It's true. He can heal Christine!!!  Expecting it!!!

I keep doing what I need to do.  It's concerning when she gets to a point like this, but the Lord can pull her out and it will be very obvious it was Him!!!

I prayed tonight with Bambine that the Lord would reveal to her the nature of her healing. A vision, a word of knowledge, something that will bolster her and give her peace & knowledge that this is just a season.

Please pray for peace, freedom from fear and a vision of God's healing.

Thank you once again dear friends for your prayers and support!!

It's all about Faith

As I'm driving to the hospital this morning to visit my lovely wife I think about all the things that she's facing as far as her calcium being high, her liver function not good, her weight low, nausea stopping her from eating and it seems like it's as bad as it's ever been.

It's always been bad from the very first diagnosis when Tgey said two months without treatment, two years with treatment.  That was 6 months ago, with 3 chemo treatments & a lot of natural supportive supplements.

So here we are very low on the health meter but nothing,s really changed other than we're relying more and more on God because now things are really getting desperate and there's not much man can do in situations like this.

So this is where we really exercise our faith. This is what faith is all about.

This is where the rubber meets the road....

Easy to believe in God when things are going smoothly, when life is comfortable.   What's more challenging is the trust God in these times and trust that he will be true to his word that "by his stripes we are healed" especially when the doctors are saying there's not much hope.

I have to tell you all that walking through this with my wife who's been bearing the brunt of this event is challenging. Being a caregiver is challenging. It certainly can be an emotional roller coaster. If I let myself worry about it I would be in agony physically wondering if she's going to make it or not.

But ultimately God's word promises he will heal us and if I can't rely on that then what's the point of having any faith.

His peace that passes all understanding IS truly amazing!!!  Thankfully He provides that peace.

As so now we wait for the healing to come.

Jeremiah 17:7-8.  "Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. They will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out it's roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."

Post 20... Specific Prayer Needs

                                                                                 Palm Bay Hospital, Nov. 6, 2015  7:02pm

Dear Friends,

Here we are back in the hospital.  Blood work Wednesday revealed several issues.

Please pray specifically for;

Normal Calcium levels -  Her calcium is around 18, and should be 8-10.  It's dangerously high.

Normal Liver Function - Her liver is not functioning as well as it should.  Gal Bladder has a little to do with that too...

Eating - She is having difficulty getting food again.  We're working on better liquid supplements, but it's all a battle...

We should also find a Nutritionalist to help with this.

Please pray for all of the above, and wisdom and guidance.  Of course above all, healing.

Thank you again friends for standing with us and lifting us up through this.

P, C, & E and Grandma... and the cats...  :)

ps.  Don't forget to add yourself to the Prayer Map!!!

Psalm 103

Of David.

Praise the Lord, my soul;
all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.
