Time to pray hard.

OK prayer warriors,

Looks like we're getting down to the wire here, medically speaking of course.

We met with the palliative care doctor last week and he said that she has fractures on her vertebrae causing a lot more pain and her liver function is very low.

They upped her morphine to every two hours and increase the dosage although they will hold off as much as they can so she's not knocked out all the time.

They also increased her pain patch from a 50 to 75.

And they also added a anti-anxiety drug which is helping her with a bit more sleeping as she did not have a good Friday night.  Neither one of us slept much.  So now she seems to be sleeping most of the time as far as we can tell. The nurse said it will be either sleeping or awake and in pain. :(

Finally they added a catheter now so she can pee whenever she needs to.

Thursday she was quite lucid and able to communicate fairly well. Friday morning she was a bit more tired and not able to speak well but she did share with me that someone prayed with her and told her it was OK to go to Jesus.

She was quite upset that somebody had given up on her and told her that. She said if anyone wants to come pray with her they need to be positive and pray for her healing. She said and I quote "it is not my time!!!"

Now if she can be positive and faithful in the midst of her battle that just continues to get worse, why can't we?

Again what's the point of having faith if we can't remain faithful in times like this?

Why do we pray "if it be your will Lord" when we pray for someone with sickness like this, but we don't pray that when we're sharing salvation.

Doesn't his word promise that "by his stripes we are healed"?

Isaiah 53:5New International Version (NIV)

But he was pierced for our transgressions,
    he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.
When we went to Israel we stood on the very stones where he earned those stripes, we know that it's real.

Mark 15:15  Wanting to satisfy the crowd, Pilate released Barabbas to them. He had Jesus flogged, and handed him over to be crucified.

The carving on the stone, where the soldiers played games to gamble for his garments.

"That he heals all our diseases and redeems our life from the pit"

Psalm 103:2-4

“But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That person should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. Such a person is double-minded and unstable in all they do.”
James 1:6-8 NIV
